Dalam film ini CHIPS singkatan dari Cara Hebat Ikut Penanggulangan masalah Sosial. Mereka mempunyai kantor, asrama, berseragam seperti California Highway Patrols (Chips) polisi Amerika. Tetapi mereka bukan polisi bahkan tidak ada hubungannya dengan polisi. Film ini hanya merupakan banyolan-banyolan dengan seragam Chips. Film ini merupakan film komedi yang sukses dengan pemain pelawak Warkop DKI.
